Ways to save money and earn cash back – Make your Christmas budget go farther!

Standard

moneySo, it’s Christmas time and if you’re like me, you’d like to find some ways to stretch every dollar you spend on gifts (or really anything you buy). I thought I would share a few of my tips for saving money and maybe getting some of it back!

My first tip reminds of the days when almost every product offered a rebate. It was work to get that money back and the companies probably thought that the average consumer wouldn’t want to take so much of their time just for a couple of bucks back. Today we have a better way to earn rebates through Ebates. The trick to Ebates is to always go through their website before you go shopping, or you can add them to your toolbar and it will let you know if you can earn cash back from the site you are visiting. That’s what I did – it has made a difference on my cash back. I’ve earned Ebates from ebay, JCPenney, Macy’s and more, the list of stores they offer rebates at is huge! No forms to fill out, it just automatically is added to your account and they send you a check a few times a year. Be sure to check the site for coupon offers, too. This time of year is a great time to be earning cash back – it’s always a higher percentage around Christmas (some stores have offers as high as 25% cash back) and today is Merry Monday – double cash back! If you sign up using my link you can get started by earning $10 bonus cash! Go here to sign up ===> Ebates

If $10 sounds good to you, I’ve got another $10 for you at my favorite Vitamin/healthy living online shop – Vitacost. The prices on vitamins and supplements, gluten free and organic foods, etc. are great at Vitacost and if you sign up through me, you can get $10 toward your first purchase (and if you go through Ebates, you can get cash back at Vitacost – that’s what I do). The best part is, if you like Vitacost, you can refer your friends and you will both get $10 to spend at Vitacost (you’ll get your $10 when your friend places an order of $30 or more)! If you have a smart phone and like getting cash back for groceries, you should try iBotta. They have cash back on many popular items and you can earn bonuses for meeting set goals for the number of rebates you submit (usually between $2 – $5 although it’s higher right now for Christmas). You can even earn cash back for produce items. Here’s how it works: download the iBotta app and create your account. Choose the store you are going to shop at and look through the reabte offers – if you see one you like, add it to your account. Go shopping, buy the items you’ve added, go home and scan the barcodes, take a photo of your receipt and submit it to get your cash back. The great thing is you can use this with coupons, so you save even more! Go here to sign up ===> iBotta

I hope you like these money saving tips. If you like saving money and would like some more tips, let me know and I’ll share some more tips and sites that can help save you money.

Sweepstakes in Seattle Deal of the Day – Amazon Local restaurant deals

Standard

Trago-Mexican-KitchenToday’s deal of the day is from Amazon Local and it’s for folks in Olympia, Washington.  One of the deals is good for University Village in the Seattle area.  Are you familiar with Amazon Local?  I love it!  You have to sign up for it and you can set it up to email you their daily deals.  I’ve purchased a couple different deals in the past and saved at least 50% – totally worth it!

So, once you’ve signed up for Amazon Local (or signed in, if you already have an account) go to the Olympia deals – there are several deals on the page, but you’ll need to scroll down for the deals I’m sharing.  First, $25 to Spend at Trago Mexican Kitchen – for $12 – that’s a savings of 52%!

Second, $10 or $20 to spend on Frozen Yogurt at Menchie’s – save 50% (this is good at the Capital Mall and University Village locations only).  Have you tried Menchie’s yet?  I tried it for the first time a couple of weeks ago and it was fabulous!  They have a melted marshmallow cream sauce to pour over your frozen yogurt – oh, yum!  I’m pretty sure whatever I try at Menchie’s will always end up with that sauce on top of it! With deals this great, I’m thinking it’s time for a date night!
