Today is my wedding anniversary! My sweet hubby, Colin & I have been married for 17 years today. Happy October! I love fall, don’t you? Red and yellow leaves on the trees, pumpkin everything in the stores, apple cider, cool evenings – I love it! I’m still working on what exactly this blog will look like after December – hibernation or super light posting, time will tell. In case you missed my announcement last week, I am in the process of winding down Sweepstakes in Seattle and putting it into hibernation. I’m still figuring out what that exactly looks like. Today is Sept. 11, a day etched in the hearts and minds of the American people. I know I remember that day 15 yrs. ago vividly. I was heartbroken for my country. Today also marks the beginning of a long good-bye for Sweepstakes in Seattle. I have been blogging about sweepstakes since September 2011, first for Queen Bee coupons and later, Sweepstakes in Seattle. I still enjoy sweepstakes, but I am finding I don’t have the time needed to keep up with the sweepstakes and still devote the time I want to other things, like my family and my son’s school. So, I have decided it’s time to step away from the blog. I will still be going through the Christmas season (it’s my favorite sweepstakes time of year), but officially, I will finish in Dec. 2016. I am going to hang on to the blog for a while, I may be back when my son graduates from high school (2019) if I find I have more time available. Thank you for following Sweepstakes in Seattle, I hope you stay during my long good-bye and enjoy the final sweepstakes season with me. Last week was busy at my house – we entered some things in the local fair, my guys went camping and it got HOT! Friday, it was 92 degrees outside and that meant that my brain decided to take a vacation. Seriously, I cannot focus when I get too hot. I grew up in the Midwest where it gets hot in the summer, but we had air conditioned everything. The Northwest doesn’t get as hot as often, so most houses don’t have air conditioning. Thankfully, I have air conditioning in my bedroom – I needed it this week. So, if you wondered what was going on with the sweepstakes this week, now you know – it was a combo of being busy and then being so hot I was miserable. I’m hoping for more pleasant weather this week. As for our fair entries – my son got first place and I got first place 4 times and a second place ( I entered 2 photos and 3 cards). By the way, I intended to post this on Sunday, just as usual, but we had a comcast outage in our area – so I’m posting it on Monday.
